Coats For Kids is the annual community project spearheaded by the Altus Fire Department. Firefighters collect and distribute warm winter coats to children throughout the area with the public's support.

With the help of Altus Laundry and Cleaners, more than 400 good used coats are cleaned and prepared each year for anyone in need. Businesses and individuals also make donations that allow the purchase of new coats.

The distribution of the coats is accomplished with the help of the Salvation Army. Call the Altus Fire Department at 481-2230 for more information on how you can help.
