million in bonds to be issued by JCMH for construction projects



The Jackson County Memorial Hospital Authority Board of Trustees approved the issuance of $50 million in healthcare revenue bonds for multiple construction projects during its regular meeting Monday. The hospital and the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Health Care Corporation will be responsible for the bond debt.

The JCMH Authority Board also okayed the issuance of $28 million dollars in bonds by the ODFA to fund the Cancer Center of Southwest Oklahoma projects which includes the Altus cancer center site and building. Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma is a cooperative venture among Comanche County Memorial Hospital at Lawton, Duncan Regional Hospital and JCMH. JCMH has 29 percent ownership in the cancer center buildings.

The hospital board approved a resolution expressing appreciation to Dr. Newland for his service to the hospital and related services and to the community for the past 25 years. Dr. Newland is retiring from his Altus practice and he and his wife Sue will be moving.
