Maria was born July 2, 1966, in Portland, Oregon, to Felipe and Juanita (Perez) Garcia. She graduated from Southside High School near Elmer, Oklahoma, and participated in cheerleading, softball, and basketball. Maria later graduated from the Dallas Art Institute. She loved photography, art, cooking, and sewing. She was also a bank teller until recently.
Preceded in death by her father, Felipe Garcia, Maria is survived by one daughter, Star D. San Miguel; her mother, Juanita Garcia; two sisters, Sylvia Garcia and Margarita Garcia; four brothers, Felipe Garcia, Jr., Rolando Garcia and wife Vicky; Jorge Garcia, and Felix Garcia; and four nephews, Dylon Garcia, Jorge Garcia, Jr., Michael Garcia, and Isaac Garcia.
A Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, Dec 28, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus.
Funeral Services for Maria Garcia will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 29 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph H. Arledge officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
