Mr. Gramling died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in Lawton.
He was born on April 8, 1921, in Duke, to Thomas Lee and Minnie Ethel Pistole Gramling. He and his family moved to Altus when he was 6-months old and he lived there until 1946. He joined the U.S. Air Force on Sept. 16, 1942, in Oklahoma City and served for more than three years. Most of that time was spent overseas in the Philippines. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force on Jan. 8, 1946, in Fort Logan, Colo., he and his family came to Lawton. They resided here until 1989 when he moved to LaCrosse, Wis . He married Gwyneth E. Gramling on March 6, 1989, in Fort Worth, Texas. He returned to Lawton in 2004. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Free Church in LaCrosse, Wis.
Survivors include his wife, LaCrosse, Wis.; a daughter, Lynn Hill, Lawton; a former son-in-law, Andrew Hill, Lawton; a grandson and his wife, Bradley and Nancy Hill, Lawton; two great-granddaughters: Elizabeth and Michaela Hill, both of Lawton; two brothers and sisters-in-law: T.L. and Nelda Gramling, Altus; and Gene and Beverly Gramling, Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Doris Taylor, Altus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Geneva Swanson; and a brother, Dean Gramling.
