Parks and Recreation Department Director Randy Marple said that the algae problem found at the Altus City Pool has been corrected, and that the pool is set to reopen today.

Marple attributes the problem with algae to the high outdoor temperatures.

“This is the first time we have experienced a problem with algae,” Marple said.

He said that the pool was drained yesterday, and that crews worked late into the night to make sure the pool was properly cleaned so that the pool could be refilled and opened for business later today,
