The public is invited to the Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council's “Days of Wine and Roses” to be held Monday evening, July 11, from 7 to 9 p.m., hosted in the gardens of Eddie and Joan Wilcoxen. This garden features two large waterfalls, multiple fountains, large trees and tons of beautiful landscaping and flowers, and will be featured in the fall on the Oklahoma Educational Television Network. Located at 712 East Walker Street in Altus, the house is a two story white stucco with a green roof. (Look for the white lights around the entrance and the pink flamingo in the driveway). Come and explore the gardens, have great wine and food, enjoy entertainment and mix and mingle with friends. Entertainment will include poetry reading by Oklahoma’s Poet Laureate Eddie Wilcoxen, and the musical talents of Ben Bailey and Judith Norton. Committee members , front row, Eddie Wilcoxen, Judith Norton, and Ben Bailey, and back row, Connie McQuinn, Bea Meeker, Candace Willingham and Joan Wilcoxen, are shown making plans for the event.
