Carl Lester Sharp, 61, of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at the Oklahoma Veterans Center Clinton Division. He was born May 16, 1950, to Irvin and Alma Pauline (Woods) Sharp in Fresno, Calif. He attended school in Hobart.

Carl was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Washington Street Baptist Church in Hobart, and also attended the First Baptist Church in Roosevelt.

Survivors include four sisters, Nettie Cunningham and husband Bob of Hudson Oaks, Texas, Betty Sharp of Hobart, Sherry June Shook and husband Lee of Park City, Kan., and Judy Payne and husband Ron ofWoodward; nine nieces and nephews, and 19 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Sharp; nephew, Bobby Cunningham; great-nephew, Remington Fischer; and his grandparents.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ray & Martha's Chapel in Hobart. Burial was to follow at Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home.
