According to reports, the driver of a GMC truck had a seizure and crossed the median and struck the Ortega vehicle. Mrs. Ortega broke her arm in the accident, while Rep. Ortega had a head injury and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a Lawton hospital. He was later transferred from ICU, and was released Sunday night.
The Ortega’s three-year old grandchild was in a child restraint seat and was not injured.
