Altercation at rodeo; charges pending against Mangum Police Chief Woodress

Altus Police Department received a complaint of an assault and battery against rodeo staff by a patron. 

This was the result of a fight at the Jackson County Rodeo on Saturday night, Aug. 27.

Assistant Police Chief Mike Turner said, "Victims and witnesses indicated that Bray Woodress was the suspect.The report was submitted to the District Attorney's Office for the consideration of criminal charges being filed." 

Woodress, is the Mangum Chief of Police. His step-daughter, Brook Stover, was a Rodeo Queen candidate. According to Mangum City Manager Paul Southwick, Woodress has put himself on administrative leave. Scott Paxton is now the acting Chief of Police in Mangum.
