Don Marshall, 79, of Altus, passed away on Oct. 31, 2011, at the English Village Manor. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday at the Altus City Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating. Services are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Don Frank Marshall was born on Dec. 11, 1931, in Duke to Frank and Eula Marshall. After high school, he received his Masters Degree in History. He married Vernie Nickell on Sept. 7, 1956 in Granite. Don was a teacher and the assistant principal at South East Jr. High for 35 years. Don also served in the Army National Guard for several years. He took great pride in giving scholarships to Western Oklahoma State College and the Southwest Area Vo-Tech’s Nursing Programs. He was also a Mason for several years.

Don was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, James Marshall; and a sister, Hazel Darby.

He is survived by two sons, Rex Marshall of Altus, and Frank Marshall and wife Colleen of Altus; a grandson, Michael Moriarity and wife Jamie of Oklahoma City; a great-granddaughter, Allison; a special friend, Sera Bella; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Kincannon Funeral Home.
