Commissioner Carrell approved to continue on SOCAG Board

The Jackson County Commissioners held their regular meeting on Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. Commissioner Cary Carrell was absent, so Commissioner Marty Clinton conducted the meeting.

The minutes from the meeting on Monday, Dec. 12 were approved.

There were no reports, Officers' reports or blanket purchase orders.

Jackson County Treasurer, Renee Howard, said she'd received a $100 bid from a commissioner property sale. This was on 721 S. Crain. The commissioners approved this sale.

Commissioner Carrell has been a member on the Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group, Inc. Board since Jan. 8, 2008. He was re-appointed and approved to that board from Jan. 2012 to the end of Dec. 2014.

In an agreement between Jackson County Tobacco Education Committee/Jackson County Health Department, and the following individuals were approved by the commissioners as contractors for SWAT: Sue Henthorn, Jareta Davis, Jessica Hiatt, Karyl Gray, Lisa Conner, Lesly Wells, and Lisa Teague.

In new business, County Clerk Christi hair said a bid from Helena Chemical was received but will not be opened because it arrived two days late in the last bid process. Also for the minutes, documents were received for the District Court Roger L. Shaw v. The City of Altus for $18,000 for a Workers Compensation case.

There were no items in public or vendor participation

The claims were approved and the meeting adjourned at 10:14 a.m.
