Man ejected from one-vehicle accident north of Hollis early Saturday morning

A Quanah, Texas, man was taken to Harmon County Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning after a one-vehicle accident north of Hollis.

According to reports, Joseph Edward Campsey, 50, was southbound on Highway 30 at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when he ran off the right side of the road, over corrected, entered a broadside slide, then overturning one time before being ejected. The 1999 Dodge pickup then overturned another full time before coming to rest on its wheels.

Seatbelts were equipped but not in use.

Campsey was admitted to the hospital with head and trunk injuries and was listed in stable condition.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Ryan Hayes of the Harmon County detachment of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He was assisted by Trooper Tyler Shelby of Greer County, Troppers Jeff Parker, Chris Hunter, both of Beckham County, the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office, the Erick Fire Department, Beckham County EMS and Harmon County EMS.
