Altus Police responded to a call Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 28, for what was initially thought to be a child and a dog left unattended in a vehicle in the alley behind the 1000 block of E. Sutherland. Upon investigation, officers found a body in the red, Dodge Nitro shown here. The investigating officer cordoned off the scene and called in detectives who are treating the area as a crime scene. According to police on the scene, they know who owns the vehicle, and according to police records, the vehicle was stopped by APD officers Monday night at 10:47 p.m. No arrests were made at that time.
