served an arrest warrant
at 610 E. Liveoak on
Tuesday afternoon, March
6. John Dietrich Krueger,
49, of Altus, was arrested
for failing to appear or
pay on two charges of
consuming intoxicants in
public, and fraud for less
than $500. He was also
arrested for threatening to
perform an act of violence
in 2011.
According to Altus
Police Chief Tim Murphy,
Krueger is also a person of
interest in the Melissa D.
Bost slaying.
Melissa Bost, 49, of
Altus, was found dead
in an abandoned vehicle
in the alley in the 1000
block of E. Sutherland
last Tuesday. The State
Medical Examiners Office
cited the cause of death
as “sharp force trauma to
the head and neck.” Since
that time, police has also
stated that the site where
Bost was found was not
the primary crime scene.
The 610 E. Liveoak residence
were Krueger was
arrested was inspected,
but police say that preliminary
results indicate that
this was not the primary
crime scene of the Bost
murder.
Krueger has a long
record of arrests and has
served time for multiple
felonies including assault
with a dangerous weapon, uttering a forged instrument,
DUI, and false declaration on pawn ticket. Other charges
he served time for included grand larceny, malicious injury
to personal property and driving under suspension. Kruger
had a Protective Order against him for 2008 to 2011.
According to police, Krueger was to be interviewed
today. Information from that interview was not available
at press time.
NOTE: Chief Murphy also wants to stop rumors about
multiple murders and the possibility of a serial killer in
Altus. “The rumors are completely false,” he said after his
office received repeated calls that other victims have been
found after the death of Bost.
