Matt Wilhite and Fernando Tapia were selected as Large West All-State

Wrestlers and Kanyon Weldon and Ty Stevens were selected as 5A All-Star

Wrestling Team. “The senior wrestling class of 2012 has been a force

helping develop the value in our program,” said AHS Head Coach Nick

Williams. The wrestling program values are to build work ethics, build

traditions, and build champions. Ty Stevens, Matt Wilhite, Kanyon Weldon

and Fernando Tapia have been a big part in getting the Altus Bulldog

wrestling program back in contentions all four years they were in high

school. The places these kids have traveled to help develop there

technique is Laramie, Wyoming, Fargo, North Dakota, Corona California

and Stillwater Oklahoma. There stats will speak for there ability to

find a way to win. Dual Record 107-14 (7-12 grade), Junior High State

Team Champions, 4 time District Champions, 3 time Regional Champions, 3

time State Semi Finalists at Dual State, 2 Time State Runner-up. These

four seniors may not have been the state champions in 2012, but they
