MANGUM - The Greer County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the Mangum Police Department, arrested two individuals in connection to a burglary in progress last week.

The Sheriff’s Department received information about an individual wanting to commit a burglary. The suspect was said to have been scouting locations to possibly burglarize in rural Greer County for the past couple of weeks. The Sheriff’s Department was able to narrow the location that was to be burglarized down to a location near the Jaybuckle area. On the night of March 3, members of the Sheriff’s Department and the Mangum Police Department were placed in strategic locations to keep surveillance on the possible burglary site.

The suspects arrived and made entry into a barn and began loading items from inside the barn onto a flatbed trailer, law enforcement then approached the suspects. The suspects fled on foot and were both taken into custody a short time later.

Arrested were Aaron Calder, 43, of Mangum, and Gary Hundley, 46, of Altus. Both suspects are reported to being held in the Greer County Jail awaiting their initial court date in front of the Honorable Judge Dan Deaver.
