Goldie Mae Bennett, 94, of Altus, passed away Friday morning, April 13, 2012, at Plantation Village Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Ray Jolin officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Goldie was born April 3, 1918, to Charles J. and Floice (Stockton ) Robertson. She married Robert Lee Bennett on Dec. 2, 1937, in Altus. She worked most of her life in retail sales at C.R. Anthonys and Watkins. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness. Goldie loved cooking, canning, camping and fishing. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and family get-togethers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Tom, Leonard, Charles, Chester, Foy, and Fred; and two sisters, Agnes and Juanita.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by three daughters, Norma Jean Stewart and husband Dan of Altus; Sandra Bennett of Altus; Jeanette Fischer of Kalamazoo, Mich.; one son, Jimmy Bennett of Altus; 10 grandchildren, Leslie Jean Hughes and her partner Jackie Keller of Odenville, Ala.; Cindy Morgan and husband Wayne of Altus; Annette Sullivan of Chelsea, Mich.; Rick Nordmeyer and wife Shelly of Erie, Colo.; Michele Villegas and husband Joe of Eldorado; Michael Turner of Austin, Texas; Tracy Bennett, Brandon Bennett, Brady Bennett and Jason Bennett, all of Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation for family and friends one hour before the services on Wednesday at Kincannon Funeral Home. Online tributes may be made at kincannonfuneralhome.com
