Thomas Named National Player Of The Week

Colorado Springs, CO- For the second time this season, a Western Oklahoma State player has been named the NJCAA Division I National Player of the Week. This time it was sophomore second baseman Martha “Moose” Thomas. It was Thomas’ second time to receive this honor in her career as she earned it once in the 2011 season.

In only two games last week, Thomas hit .833 by going five for six. The sophomore out of North Richland Hills, TX, had three home runs and eight rbi’s in two wins against NOC-Tonkawa. Moose is currently leading the team in hitting (.456), on base percentage (.511), slugging percentage (.881), hits (73), doubles (22), and tied for the lead in triples (2) and home runs (14). She also ranks in the top six nationally in doubles, top fifteen in hits, top twenty in runs, and top twenty-five in rbi’s.
