Two Altus Police Department detectives challenged others to donate for a blood drive held for Jackson County Assistant District Attorney Stephen Booker. Det. Dan Meyers and Det. Rusty Williams said that if people filled every available slot for giving blood at the Tuesday, April 17 blood drive for Booker, they’d shave their hair and facial hair.

The response was very good. Normally the turnout is eight or nine donors, but this time over 30 came to donate blood for Booker. Obviously, every slot was filled with potential donors wishing the best for Booker, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. That meant that Meyers and Williams made good on their promises. Judith Norton did the honors, shaving the detectives in the cool breeeze at the Courthouse.
