Ice on the roadway was the cause of an accident on Southgate Road, 2 1/2 miles south of US 62.

According to reports, a 1991 Dodge pickup driven by Ike Moore, 88, of Altus, was northbound when he lost control of the vehicle due to ice and left the road to the right and overturned 1/2 time.

A passenger, Linda Moore, of Altus, was taken by EMS to Jackson County Memorial Hospital where she was admitted in stable condition with head and trunk injuries. She has since been released.

The driver was not injured in the accident.

Seatbelts were equipped and in use.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Tyler Shelby of the Greer County detachment of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He was assisted by Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson County EMS and the Altus Fire Department.
