Candidates can file declarations starting Monday

Candidates for municipal office in seven Jackson County municipalities can file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

Jennifer L. Wilson , Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4.

In Altus, Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office for 4-year term City Council members in Wards I, II, III and IV.

In Blair, declarations will be accepted for 4-year term Board of Trustees for Wards II, and IV.

In Duke, 4-year term 1 Town Trustee declarations will be accepted, and in Eldorado, 4 year term 3 Town Trustees declarations will be accepted.

Four-year 2 Town Trustees declarations will be accepted in Headrick, as well as 2 year unexpired terms in 1 Town Trustee and Town Clerk.

 In Martha , a 4-year term for 1 Town Trustee is open, and in Olustee, a 4 year 2 Town Trustees is open as well as a 2 year unexpired term for  1 Town Trustee.

The municipal offices at stake in Altus, Blair, Duke, Eldorado, Headrick, Martha and Olustee will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled for April 7.
