Everyone is invited to attend, and bring a lawn chair, to sit and enjoy lots of fun for the whole family. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with music by Rincon Norteno. A horseshoe contest will begin at 2 p.m., and at 3 p.m. the Altus Firefighters will judge the Hot Sauce Contest.
At 4 p.m. there will be pinata breaking for the kids. There will be three age divisions for this event.
At 4:30 p.m. gather for the AHA Prince and Princess crowning. Princess contestants this year are Krystal Marie Vargas, Zami-Jo Angelina Rodriguez, Markaytin Baeza, Taileana Casuas and Denali Eloisa Lopez. Prince contestants are Tayten Jasinski and Jacob Salazar. The winning contestants are chosen by the amount of money raised on their behalf for the AHA scholarship fund.
For those who enjoy dancing, there will be a Cumbia dance contest at 5 p.m., and a El Grito contest at 5:30.
All funds raised through this event helps with student scholarships and other community needs.
