Tommy Ray McMinn, 77, of Mangum, passed away May 6, 2012 in Oklahoma City.

Funeral servicea will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Mangum on Friday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Marsha Purtell officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Mangum under the direction of People’s Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf. Tommy Ray McMinn was born to Henry Clay and Mattie Ila (Simonton) McMinn in Mangum, on May 28, 1934.

Tommy grew up in Mangum and attended school at City View before going to live with his brother in Oklahoma City and graduating from Northeast High School in 1952. He married Molly Johnson on June 5, 1952, in Oklahoma City. They traveled around several states operating heavy equipment for road construction and pipe line work before his father got ill and they moved to Mangum to operate the farm. While farming he also worked in the copper mines in Olustee, and at the reformatory in Granite. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mangum.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Bill, Roy and Junior McMinn.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Tommy Ray McMinn Jr. and Kin Bresee of Chandler, Ariz.; two daughters, Debbie and husband Mike Holloway of Altus, and Cindy Hilley and Mike Horne of Warr Acres; two granddaughters, McKenna Ray of Altus and Mandy and husband Kevin Wisdom of Oklahoma City; a great-grandson, Kaiden Wisdom; and many other family members and friends.
