Altus Mayor David Webb has proclaimed the week of May 14 to 18 as Oklahoma Nursing Home Week. The purpose of this annual observance is to honor the many residents in nursing homes and to recognize the valuable service these facilities provide the community.Residents of nursing homes, or now more commonly long term care facilities, are still vital and functioning people who enjoy life and live it to the best of their capabilities.

Oklahoma Nursing Home Week is sponsored by the Oklahoma Nursing Association. It is designed to focus attention on nursing home residents and the quality of life provided them by nursing home professionals in Oklahoma.

Mayor Webb urges all citizens to visit nursing homes and participate in scheduling activities during the observance.
