Carrol Edison Bradford, 86, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2012. Carroll was born Dec. 11, 1925, in McQueen, to the late Guy and Docie Bradford of Duke.

Carrol entered the United States Army where he served in the infantry division during World War II. He moved to Houston in 1945 where he was employed by the International Longshoreman’s Association on the Houston Ship Channel until he retired in 1971.

Carrol returned to Friendship where he started his new career in farming. Many people in the Altus area knew him for the magnificent fruit trees he grew.

Carrol enjoyed witnessing for our Lord, visiting his many friends that resided in the nursing facilities around the Altus area, farming and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Docie Bradford, four sisters and three brothers.

Carrol Bradford leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Eddy Bradford and wife Lonnie of Dayton, Texas; sister, Shirley Oliphant and husband John of Homeland, Calif.; grandsons, Michael Bradford and wife Stacy of Tarkington, Texas, and Morgan Bradford of Dayton, Texas; great-grandson, Trent Bradford of Tarkington; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus, officiated by the Rev. Madison Clinton. Burial will follow in the Prairie Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
