The Memorial Day holiday weekend is upon us. This is one of the busiest weekends at Quartz Mountain Nature Park. If you want an RV camp site, it would be best to bring your trailer out early. RV sites are usually full by the Thursday night prior to a holiday weekend. Quartz Mountain Nature Park does not yet take reservations. Sites must have a sleeping accommodation on them. A tent may be placed on an RV site but the RV site fee will be collected.

Tent sites do not fill as fast as RV sites and plenty of selection will still be available Friday afternoon. Tent sites do not have electricity and several tent sites share a water hydrant. Some sites have an upright grill others have campfire rings. Some tent sites have both.

We are NOT in a Fire Ban, so campfires are allowed. Please remember to bring your campfire wood with you or buy it from the Grocery Mountain Grocery Store. Do NOT cut down trees for firewood (it’s illegal and fines are involved). “Dead and down” trees serve biological uses: they provide food and homes for a variety of animals. Please do not collect dead and down trees for campfires.

Please remember the Memorial Holiday weekend kicks off the official “summer season”. Many people are vacationing in the park and kids are everywhere. Folks are busy having fun and might not being paying attention to traffic. Slow down as you drive through the park. Take the opportunity of slower speeds to sightsee- admire the wildflowers and deer watch. A lot of the does are looking quite plump, fawns should be arriving soon.
