They approved the minutes from last meeting(s) on Monday, May 21 with a minor correction and those taken at the Tuesday, May 29 meeting were approved as written.
Reports were received and approved from the Health Department, the Alcoholic Beverage Report, the Assessor’s Office, and the Sheriff’s Office.
There were no Officers reports.
Blanket purchase orders were approved for the three Districts, the DA’s Office, and the Sheriff’s Office.
The commissioners approved the advertisement for bids for four-wheel drive Heavy Brush Fire Truck, for the Elmer Rural Volunteer Fire Department. Diane Beach was there to present the item. EFD needs a truck with at least 1,000 gallon water capacity on the truck, Beach said. This will be paid for out of their REAP grant funds.
Renee Howard, Jackson County Treasurer, gave the commissioners and officers an updated Disaster Recovery Plan for the Jackson County Treasurer’s Office.
The Monthly Appropriations for the Month of May were approved.
Resolution 20120-13 was approved to execute the agreement establishing the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma Self-Insurance Fund (Workers’ Compensation Program). It saves $3,000 to pay for the coverage all at once, so that was approved. It was $109,406.00.
The commissioners approved the advertisement for bids for Road & Bridge Materials, Tires, and Herbicides, July 1, through December 31.
Resolutions 2012-14 through 2012-21 were approved for disposing of equipment at the Elk City auction. That included the following: Hydraulic Excavator, Screen Plant, John Deere CX15 15’ Flexwing Mower, 1987 International Truck Tractor, 1993 Ford L9000 Truck, 1999 Freightliner 10 Wheel Dump Truck, 1994 International 10 Wheel Dump Truck, and an Excel 2200 Portable Impact Crusher.
In new business, the commissioners discussed an upcoming CED meeting. Commissioner Cary Carrell will attend the meeting, Tuesday, June 5, regarding the possibility that the CED may produce oil for pothole patching and chip sealing roads. The quality of the product is supposed to be very good, according to those commissioners who used the product before. The commissioners will discuss the matter further in the Monday, June 4 meeting at 10 a.m.
