The Altus City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

The Municipal Trust Authority will consider a change order to a water clarification project at the Water Treatment Plant for installation of isolation valve and fittings. It will also vote to acknowledge completion of a project to construct a new waterline along North Park Lane in preparation for the widening of that major thoroughfare.

During the regular Council agenda, a request from Western Oklahoma State College to waive the City’s commercial building permit fee for the college’s planned new student center will be heard.

Council members will also hear an appeal by property owner Stephen Jones concerning an order from the Dilapidated Building Commission on property at 1328 Cottonwood.

Two pending tort claims are on the executive session agenda.

City Administrator Mike Nettles will ask the Council to set a date for a special meeting to discuss agenda items related to Hangar #33 (the large hangar) at the Altus-Quartz Mountain Regional Airport which the Southwest Technology Center wants to purchase for its aviation programs.

Updates on the MAPS plans are also expected tonight.
