The Altus Times just received notice at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 11, that there would be a Special City Council Meeting tonight June 11, at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

According to the agenda, the council will consider, discuss and vote to approve consent agenda item from the June 5, 2012 Council Agenda, page 3b, P.O. # 12-8693, in the amount of $3,7798.53 charged to Department 04 for legal services provided by Margaret McMorrow-Love related to City employee Dan Scott.

The council will consider, discuss and vote to authorize the hiring of Tom Frailey, of the legal firm of Frailey, Chaffin, Cordell, Perryman, Sterkel, McCalla & Brown, LLP of Chickasha, Oklahoma to serve as legal adviser to the City in the matter of the appeal of City employee Dan Scott.

They will also consider, discuss and vote to authorize the hiring of Terry White of Young Reporting Services, Inc., or a substitute, at an estimated cost of $2,000 for the Appeal Hearing of City employee Dan Scott.
