The Altus Municipal Authority (AMA) will meet Tuesday, June 19 in the Council Chambers. The City Council meeting will be held immediately following the AMA.

Recognition will be given to six retiring Altus City employees. They include: Firefighters Steven Davis, Tom Meacham, Clay Richardson, J.R. Wheeler, Johnny Conrad and to a City meter reader, Tommy Sadler.

A check from Jeff Steeley of Centerpoint Energy will be presented for a community partnership grant.

The trustees, among other items, will consider the Consent Agenda, amending the 2011-2012 Annual Budget, and the 2012-2013 combined budgets. Another attempt will be made to consider the “ten percent personnel cost reduction /15 percent utility revenue increase” budget version.

The trustees will consider the repair of a 30-inch and 20-inch raw water line that feeds into the City water treatment plant as an emergency.

In the City Council meeting, the council members will consider the Consent Agenda, and companion items from the AMA concerning budgeting.

They will receive a report from the office of the District Attorney, John Wampler regarding the Drug Task Force and consider approving a Memo of Agreement between the City and the District Three Drug Task Force.

The members may consider a contract for services provided by the American Red Cross (ARC) for $10,000 in two installments, and make an addendum to the lease for the ARC at the Wilson Center.

The council members may show their support through contract renewal for the Altus-Jackson County E-911 Regional Trust Authority.

They will consider awarding the property insurance contract to the lowest and best and most responsible bidder.

The council will consider several items concerning retirement. They will possibly amend the Retirement System Define Benefits Plan for City employees and may amend the Altus City Code regarding the Retirement Plan. They may approve a lump sum payment of retirement benefits for one employee and another request for a disability retirement for another employee.

The council members will consider hiring another attorney, John Vincent, for the Dan Scott appeal hearing and hiring a court reporter for part of the hearing.

In executive session, the council will receive separate negotiation updates from both the IAFF and FOP.

Mayor David Webb may make appointments.

City Administrator Elizabeth Gray may make comments or give reports.

Individual City Council members may also make comments and reports.

Mayor Webb may conclude the meeting with comments and reports before the adjournment.
