On Feb. 4, 1949, she and Elmer Doyle Harrold were married in Vernon, Texas. Mr. Harrold preceded her in death on May 8, 1990.
Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and dogs, and helping to raise her grandchildren. She was a member of the Headrick Baptist Church.
Mrs. Harrold was preceded in death by her parents, Harvel and Maudie Richardson; her husband, Elmer; and her constant companion, her dog Koko.
She is survived by her sister, Julia Dismore and her two sons Jay Carle of Plano, Texas and Doyle Ray Harrold of Altus; daughter-in-law, Glenda Harrold of Plano; four grandchildren, Christie Collene Harrold of Altus, Jay Doyle Harrold of Plano, Roland Edward Cupaioli III and wife Erica of Plano, and Scott Damron of Altus; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Collene Harrold of Altus; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Also surviving is her loyal companion, her dachshund, Willie Nelson of the home.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday at Lowell-Tims Chapel. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
