Maria, as she was known to family and friends, was born July 21, 1974, in Oklahoma City to Doyle And Twyla (McVey) Sharp. She married Delbert Ray Duke, Jr. on Feb. 29, 2008, in Olustee.
Maria graduated from Harrah High School in 1993, and attended Platt College in Oklahoma City where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Computer Technology. She served four years in the National Guard, and for the past five years worked at Bar-S in Altus. Maria was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Harrah most of her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Duke, of the home in Olustee; four step-children, Misty Ford of Tecumseh, Micheal Duke and wife D.J., Donald Duke and fiancée Kathy Graverholt, and Diana Duke and fiancé Brett Venivamondez, all of Altus; one brother, Virgil Sharp of Midwest City; step-grandchildren, Gary, Chelsea, Adriana, Abigail, Micheal, Jr., Krista, Lilly, Bailey, Jade, Donald, Jr., Anna, and R.J.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
The family will hold a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the home of Maria’s sister-in-law, Diana Duke, 812 N. Willard in Altus, with Chaplain Mike Suiter officiating.
