Two Altus residents, Alicia Marie Rosales, 30, and Martin Kenneth Brown, 24, locked themselves out of their dwelling at 600 W. Elm, early on Sunday, July 1.
According to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy, “Rosales called 911 and reported a burglary… When officers arrived and started conducting the investigation, evidence revealed that a burglary had not taken place.” Murphy said, “After kicking in the front door, Brown and Rosales made it appear that a burglary had occurred but nothing was taken. The two were then arrested on those complaints.”
Both were arrested for obstructing an officer ,and Rosales was also charged with calling 911 to report false information.
Ironically, Chief Murphy said, “The key to the front door was found in the pocket of Rosales.”
