The City of Altus has announced a billing mistake in some of the Zone 1 customers’ bills.

“Altus Power bills were sent out with the new rate structure that began July 12. It should be noted there were a number of bills mailed out with new rates inadvertently applied prior to July 12. Revised bills have been prepared for this group of customers reflecting the proper rates. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we adjust to the new rate structure. If you have any questions, please call the Utility Department at 481-2295.”

According to Mayor David Webb, the bills should have been pro-rated from July 12 at the new rate, instead of having the new rate applied to the whole bill. Those who have already paid these charges will be credited, Webb said. The others will be receiving the new billings referred to in the above statement.
