At 4:21 p.m. Monday, July 23, Altus Police and Fire Departments received a call on a vehicle versus a house accident on the 1900 block of N. Main Street.

According to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy, a 1998 red Chevy S-14 pickup truck was being driven by Robert Shands, 19, of Tipton. He was southbound on N. Main Street when he experienced a medical issue that caused him to pass out. Shand’s truck left the roadway, struck the curb, crossed the grassy median and the frontage road. The vehicle ran into the house at 1901 N. Main.

The driver was not injured in the accident and no one was injured at the scene. The damage to the house, owned by Gerald Wallace, has not been determined.
