Gene Graham, was born in Altus on Nov. 19, 1939, to St. Elmo and Edna Mae Adams-Graham. He married Sandy on Jan. 24, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He lived most of his life in Altus. In 1964 he moved to California, then in 1971, moved back to Altus with his family.

Gene lived a full life with his wife and their three sons. He had many interests including playing dominoes, golfing, drag racing, and watching NASCAR on TV.

His daily paper route became his pasttime after retirement from his successful local business. He also enjoyed tending his beautiful garden, always keeping a perfect lawn.

Gene lost his battle with cancer at age 72, and went to meet his Jesus on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 11:45 p.m.

He is survived by his wife Sandy of the home; brother, Tom and wife Bea of Lake Forest, Calif.; sister, Carol June Frank of Altus; three sons, Billy and fiance Judy of Altus, Keith and fiance Dawn of Daytona, Fl., and Donnie of Altus. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashley and husband Mario Jasso, Logan, Katelan, Dylan, Mercedes, Lela and husband Jose Julian, Paula Lopez, Kyle and wife Kaci East, Kelly Stoops, and Tyler Wimble; his great-grandchildren, Dakota Michelson, Jasmin and Mario Jr. Jasso, Miselle Julian, Chevelle Carney, and Madison Maddox; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a long list of friends.

Affectionately referred to as “Papaw”, Gene Graham will always be loved, forever be missed, and never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held today from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home with Ricky Crouch officiating.
