One of several volunteer nurses from the Jackson County Health Department gives a student an immunization at last year’s One Stop Enrollment. This year’s event is set for Friday, August 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Altus High School Cafeteria. One Stop Enrollment is for all students enrolling for the first time in Altus Public Schools or Head Start. Returning students are already pre-enrolled and do not need to attend, unless they need immunizations. Free immunizations necessary for school are available for all area children during the event. Altus Kiwanis Club will be providing breakfast pastries or a hot dog lunch for all attendees, and Jimminee the Clown and Little Red will be present to entertain the children. Please bring the following items: Proof of residency (such as property title, current utility bill, or rent receipt), birth certificates (for students entering school for the first time - K & Pre-K), current immunization records, signed parental permission letter for immunizations (if not accompanied by a parent), Social Security Numbers for each child (optional), previous school records, and proof of custody (for children not living with a parent).
