The Altus Public School Board met for a Special Meeting on Wednesday, August 1, at noon. Members Rosalyn Hall and Darrell Moss were absent.

The board approved the contract formats for 2012-13 School Year. They are the same as ones used for the last three years, Mr. Drury, Superintendent remarked.

The board approved three sanctioned organizations: the Choir Booster Club, the Sunset Elementary School PTO and the Rivers Elementary PTO. Two other organizations had not yet completed their necessary steps to become not-for-profit organizations. They were the Altus All Sports and the Altus Band Parents. Both have completed their paperwork and the board granted them each one more year to complete the 501 (c3) status.

Some cosmetic changes were made to many policies and some others were changed to bring them into compliance with other policies. These were approved by the board.

The rest of the Extra-Duty Contracts for 2012-13 School Year were approved. Most of those were coaching assignments.

There were no revised job descriptions to approve at this time.

There were two resignations approved: Kyndell Dollins and Reenie Schulz.

The employment of new hires was approved.

Certified Personnel on a Temporary Contract: Pamela Booker, Heather Brunner, Michelle Smith , Kim Stone and Lynn Wilson.

Non-Certified Personnel on a Temporary Contract: Paula Becker, Morgan Burnam, Melissa Chavez, Carrie Crafton,

Stephanie Currid, Mike Drury, Katrina Estep, Jan Ford, Sabina Garrett, Mandy Hopkins, Tanya Jones, Cynthia Lansdale,

Kelli McQuiggan, Amalia Olson and Rebecca Ruiz.

Dr. John Thomas said that he spoke for the board in expressing appreciation for the district employees. He said he knew that mandates made processes more difficult but that the board understands that.

The meeting adjourned at 12:23 p.m.
