The Altus Municipal Authority (AMA) and the City Council will meet Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

In addition to normal business items listed in the Consent Agenda, the trustees will consider authorizing the Electric Department to go out for bids for two projects.

Water plant improvements, a project to relocate water lines near Altus Air Force Base (AAFB), and around the intersection of Falcon Road and Park Lane will be considered. Having an Environmental Impact Study on the Yates Farm will be considered.

Trustees will consider renewal of the $2 million “Revolving Credit Facility Agreement” with First National Bank of Altus which would expire June 30, 2013.

Any new business may be discussed before adjournment. The City Council will follow the AMA meeting.

The Council members will consider their normal business items in the Consent Agenda.

Council will possibly vote on whether to transfer the Hotel/Motel Tax funds to the Altus/Southwest Area Economic Development Corporation (“EDC”) each month, for the EDC to spend 30% for tourism and 70% to encourage, promote and foster economic development.

Council will consider an agreement for a consultant to the City Attorney and City Council, of retired, municipal attorney, John H. Vincent, at the rate of $75 per hour, plus expenses, through June 30, 2013.

They may vote to award bids to the low bidder to demolish and remove ten dilapidated residential and commercial buildings in the City of Altus.

They may approve retaining Ronald Cottrell, CPS for the fiscal year end June 30, 2013.

Council will consider budget amendments of the City of Altus for the Fiscal Year 2012-2013.

An agreement between the City and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) in connection with the routine surface maintenance of State and Federal highways within the City limits for FY 2012-2013.

Council may authorize a partnership with Jackson County and some private business owners, in a project named “Altus, Jackson County Project’ for the engineer’s survey of certain City/County roads (1.0 mile each of Carver, South Market and Ridgecrest Road).

In executive session, they will consider a tort claim in the amount of $395.00 filed by Steven J. Polachek of 1101 Loyadell Street, Altus, Oklahoma for towing charges. The vote will take place in open session.
