Four will be inducted into the Jackson County Athletic Hall of Fame.

The four will be inducted during ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Western Sizzlin.

This year’s inductees are:

Mark Glenn, sports writer

He is a 1971 graduate of Altus High graduate and has been in the media for more than 30 years.

He received numerous awards to include the Quarter Century Award given by the Oklahoma Press Association and several local awards.

His skill of accurate reporting and following all sports has allowed the fans to witness the true results of the game being played.

Jo Lynn Tahsuda, Basketball

Clearly one of the best ever players to come out this area. She was Prep All-American in the late 1970s at Navajo High School.

She went on to set records at Cameron University to include the school’s all-time scoring leader with 162o points.

She is now a coach and educator in Texas.

Kim Hunter, Baseball

Retired Brigadier General Hunter is an Altus High School graduate where he was an outstanding pitcher.

He went on to play at then Altus Junior College under coach Glenn Royal. He then played at Texas Tech University.

General Hunter is a retire F-q6 United States Air Force pilot and a 2012 WOSC Hall of Fame inductee.

Kurt Russell, Coach, Baseball

Coach Russell is a graduate of Altus High School and is currently the head baseball coach at Western Oklahoma State College.

He has lead his team to five consecutive World Series appearance, the longest streak of any Division II Junior College.

His teams have had four consecutive 50 wins, the longest streak in the nation.

His 2011 team won the national championship and his 2012 team was national runners-up.

He has been named District Coach of the Year, Region Coach of the Year and 2011 National Coach of the Year.
