The National Weather Service, together with state and local emergency management agencies, is observing Feb. 22 - 28 as Severe Weather Awareness Week in Oklahoma and Texas.

As we saw with the violent storms last week, it is never too early to start thinking about severe weather and ways to stay safe when storms approach.

A website has been set up with a variety of information to help learn more about severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, and to explain how you can stay safe. The website is at weather.gov/norman/swaw.
