The Great Plains Stampede Rodeo began last night, and will be held at 8 p.m. againt tonight and Saturday night. Expect lots of rodeo fun with events such as calf roping, barrel racing, bull riding and bronc busting, plus fun nightly event such as Tug Of War contests and a calf scramble for the kids. Rodeo Week began with a cattle drive from Altus Air Force Base to the rodeo arena Thursday, and will end with a parade on Saturday and the crowning of the Rodeo Queen and Princess that night at the rodeo arena.
Tonight is Family Night at the rodeo, and Saturday is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night.
Tonight’s activities begins at 7:15 p.m., with the Elementary School Tug of War, followed by the rodeo at 8 p.m.
Saturday is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night” at the rodeo, which begins at 8 p.m. Rodeo events include the Queen Coronation. But ahead of the rodeo events, the Rodeo Parade will start at noon from Bradford & Main Streets, will proceed south on Main to Broadway, then east on Broadway to the Rodeo Arena.
