The Jackson County Commissioners held their regular meeting on September 4, at 10 a.m.
They approved minutes from last meeting, Friday, Aug. 31, with a minor correction.
Reports were approved from the County Clerk’s Office and the Health Department.
In Officers’ reports, Commissioner Chair Marty Clinton said they will discuss the budget on Sept. 10 in the Commissioners’ meeting. The Auditor will also pay them a visit. Clinton asked officers to check with their employees for input on whether they wish to change health care providers. Officers should let Clinton know by Sept. 24.
There were no blanket purchase orders.
Commissioner Cary Carrell asked that they approve the re-appointment of Lawayne Drury to serve as Representative on the Southwest Rural Development Board. This was approved to run from Sept. 4 to Jan. 8, 2014. Clinton said Drury is doing a fine job in this position and said he will see Drury at the December meeting.
Supplemental Appropriations for the month of August for the Assessor’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office and the Highway Department were approved.
There was no new business. The claims were approved and the meeting adjourned at 10:09 a.m.
