Ronald “Ronnie” Alvin Lowrance, 64, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at his ranch in Woodson, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd in Ft. Worth, Texas. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Lowrance was born May 19, 1948, in Clinton. He graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1966 where he was recognized as Ranch King. Lowrance served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam and Germany from 1967-1969. He worked in the automotive repair business for over 30 years. Lowrance loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also an avid motorcycle racer and set the world record at Greenvalley Race Way in the early ’60s in motorcycle drag racing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Hamilton Lowrance; his father, Alvin Lewis Lowrance; and his daughter, Lindsey Lowrance.

Survivors include his sons, Billy and Michael Lowrance; sister, Linda Lowrance Wood; girlfriend, Carol Conley; many nieces and nephews; aunt and uncle, Barbara and Ken Privett of Altus; cousins and numerous hunting buddies and friends.
