He was born in Robstown, Texas on March 4, 1948. He married Petra Linares in 1972. He loved working in his yard and being with his grandchildren. He retired after 30 years working at the Oklahoma State Employment Services Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Epimanuel and Anita Chavarria; brother and sister-in-law, Luis and Bebe Chavarria; his sister, Esperanza Longoria; brother-in-law, Paul Sandoval; mother-in-law, Raquel Linares; and his nephew, Filex Sandoval.
Surivors include his wife, Petra of the home; one son, Alfredo Chavarria, Jr.; daughters, Beatriz Gonzalez and husband George, and Silvia L. Chavarria; sisters, Anita Sandoval, Reina Romero and husband Ben, Rosita Hailey and husband John; father-in-law, Alfonso Linares; brother-in-law, John Linares and wife Mary Ann, six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Altus City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors of Amarillo.
