Main Street Altus has been awarded paint from Keep Oklahoma Beautiful through the Fresh Paint Days grant. We have volunteers, “Alley Cats” in the community and Altus Air Force Base coming out to help with this project. Three work days have been scheduled beginning this Saturday, Sept. 8 at 9 a.m. to noon, and the following two Saturdays, Sept. 15 and 22 for our beautification project to take place.
Please come out to join volunteers in action. Some will be painting and some will be working around the square on various other beautifying assignments. Results of the fresh paint photos will be submitted for an additional award.

In addition to the N. Main project, we have plenty of beautification projects and will have something for everyone. Volunteers will also be working on an Alley Park, picking up trash in the alleys and cleaning flower beds.

Main Street Altus (MSA) provides paint, paint brushes and rollers, painting gloves, trash bags and other supplies needed for painting and cleaning will be provided. Work gloves are also helpful. MSA will have drinks, water, snacks as well as a lunch coupon ($5.00). Painting the building is a Keep Oklahoma Beautiful project. If you have questions, call Barbara Burleson at 580-481-2205 or 580-471-8638.

The group will meet down at the Main Street Altus office located next to Crown Jewelry at 219 North Main at 9 a.m. this Saturday.
