The Jackson County Commissioners met on Monday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. for their regular meeting. Minutes of the Friday, Sept. 28 meeting were delayed until the next meeting.

Reports were received and approved from the County Clerk’s Office, the Health Department, and the County Treasurer.

In Officers’ Reports, Commissioner Chair Marty Clinton said that there will be one more AFLAC meeting for those who missed previous ones. It will be held on Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon in the large courtroom.

The commissioners approved blanket purchase orders from the Roads District and the Commissioners’ Office.

Supplemental Appropriations for the month of September were approved.

A Reap Grant application Resolution (2012-38) was approved for the Friendship Fire Department. Clinton said this application is for $100,000 to replace a truck that is not pumping now according to ISO ratings. The department is looking for a fire pumper truck and accompanying equipment. A similar grant application resolution will be considered soon for Warren Fire Department.

There was no new business and the claims were approved and the meeting adjourned at 10:17 a.m.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 9, due to the Columbus Day holiday on Monday, Oct. 7.
