Jerry Blane George, 35, of Altus, was charged with Domestic Assault and Battery Resulting in Great Bodily Harm, in the severe beating of his wife on Dec. 5, 2011. Her grave injuries, including multiple fractures, forced her to be life-flighted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She survived the attack.
Jerry George initially plead not guilty to the charge and his trial was to be on the fall docket in Jackson County District Court. At his hearing, Thursday, Sept. 27, George changed his plea to guilty. According to the District Attorney’s office, Jerry George was sentenced to 25 years for his crime.
