According to Mike Turner, Assistant Chief of Police, officers responded to 2308 N. Park Lane at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14 in reference to an assault and battery.
Michael Roles, 22, of Altus, informed officers that he was assaulted by Roy Noble Lawrimore, 22, over an alleged conversation he was having with a female party. Lawrimore, of Mangum, admitted to his participation in the assault, and was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Assault and Battery (when great bodily injury is inflicted). He was held in the Jackson County Jail.
“Roles refused medical treatment at the scene but was said to have been transported to the local hospital by a family friend,” Turner said.
