Betty Adams was born to John Coleman and Evelyn Bernice (Barrow) Cox in Los Angeles, Calif. on July 1, 1927, and departed this life in Altus on Oct. 14, 2012.
Betty grew up in Indio, Calif. on a fruit farm and graduated High School there. She moved back to Oklahoma with her family. She married Clifford Adams in Hollis on Feb. 2, 1950. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blair where she taught Sunday School for 40 years. She loved playing music on the piano and harmonica which she played by ear. She could play any instrument she picked up. She was a wonderful artist, loving to paint and crochet and have a lot of fun. She taught her children to love the Lord as she did.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Mary Jo Cox; and a great-granddaughter, Kimberlynn Marie Hill.
Survivors include five sons, Steve Adams and wife Mary of Pauls Valley, Mike Adams and wife Patty of Colony, Kim Adams and girlfriend Carol Harris of Blair, Ronnie Adams and wife Maxine of Weatherford, and Bob Rhondabarger and wife Dee of Clinton; two daughters, Denise and Jim Vineyard of Belleville, Ill., and Jennifer and Rich McCormack of Snyder; a brother, Jimmie Cox of Mangum; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and many other relative and friends.
